Halloween 2010

This year we celebrated Halloween twice.  On Saturday night we dressed Madelynn up as a ballerina and to both kids to Trunk or Treat in Queen Creek.  Mason lucked out and didn't have to wear his costume that night.  Trunk or Treat was INSANE.  I've never seen so many people packed together just to get candy.  We didn't even let Madelynn trick or treat because the line was so long.  Mean Mommy & Daddy moment, I guess.  We were only there for about an hour, it was just too busy to actually be fun.  We did go to Chipotle afterward so I was happy!

At least she got to hold her trick or treat basket.

No costume needed.
On Sunday night we took both kids to the AJ Halloween event.  We made both kids dress up this time.  Madelynn of course wore her ballerina costume again.  This time I managed to get her hair into pigtails (for the very first time).  Mason was a snuggle bunny.  I did feel a little guilty because he looked like the kid from A Christmas Story.  But he pulled it off.

Cutest bunny EVER!
As soon as we arrived we ran into our friends Dave & Marty and their 3 girls.  We had some fun with them in the little petting zoo.  As soon as we walked into the petting zoo gate I nearly knocked a poor little chicken off the gate!  But, I quickly recovered (as did the chicken).  Madelynn had so much fun petting the little animals.

This time we did let her trick or treat.  She wouldn't say anything to the lady passing out the candy (yes we only went to one booth for trick or treating).  She got candy on her good looks I guess.  After that we took her over to the bounce houses.  She had been eyeballing them since the moment we arrived but was too scared to go in.  She was still so scared.  Instead of actually going into the bouncer, she decided it was better to just jump on the entrance instead.

No need to actually go into the bouncer, the entrance works just fine!
Luckily, the night was just about to end so no one was in one of the boucers so I got to go in with her. I was determined to get this girl into the bouncer because I knew she'd love it.  So, I shoved her little but through the entrance despite her protests! Mother knows best!  She LOVED it.  Her squeals of delight made up for the shoving as far as I'm concerned!

We ended the night talking to some old friends from TLP.  Lucy, Danielle, and Aaron were there to promote Lucy's run for Schoolboard President, which she won!!

Overall we had a fantastic night.  Mason was content to have mommy or daddy holding him all night long while he watched sister have all the fun.  Next year he'll be giving her a run for her money!

Back again

Well, it's been over a year since my last blog. How sad is that?

Lots of things have changed since I was last here. Madelynn is now 18 months old. She's a big sister now. We had our son Mason 5 weeks ago. I am no longer teaching. I'm staying home with the kids for a while. We moved as well.

So now my posts will probably consist of the crazy things my kids to do my sanity. Check back often!
